As beer expands into all manner of flavor and aromatic elements, it is only natural that some would ask, "How do we take that complexity even further?" Jack Rose will play host to some of the East Cost's most beloved mixologists this DC Beer Week, as they bring the flair of cocktails and spirits into the conversation. Boulevard Brewing Co, Flying Dog, and Brewery Ommegang are sponsoring the action and their beers will be the basis of each creation.
The roof deck will allow ticket holders to be a part of the judging process while tasting every entry to the competition for one set price. They will also be invited to observe the artists at work, and watch the industry expert judges confer to pick a grand champion.
Admission is $25 day of the event. Those wishing to join in the festivities on an a la carte basis will have the option of purchasing any of the competing cocktails in the downstairs bar.

On Saturday, August 17, come on over to Gordon Biersch in Rockville to celebrate with Chesapeake hard-shell crabs and Kellerbier!
Kellerbier is unfiltered lager. There is a small amount of yeast in suspension and often lower carbonation, resulting in lagerbier that is often richer in flavor. Hoppy kellerbiers are hoppier than their filtered counterparts while malty Kellerbiers often have a softer and richer mouthfeel. But they are all crisp and refreshing—a perfect complement to sweet succulent crab meat and great foil to the salty spiciness of crabs Old Bay seasoning.
Crabs will be served from noon to 5 PM. We will have four Kellerbiers served along with a traditional Chesapeake crab feast.
Enjoy Keller versions of our (8 oz pour of each):
• American Hopped Lager
• Czech Pilsener
• Golden Export
Your crab dinner will consist of:
• Your choice of ½ dozen hard-shell crabs (large) or 2 Maryland-style crab cakes
• An ear of steamed corn on the cob
• Cole slaw
• Hush puppies
The cost for our Crabs and Kellerbier dinner is $30 plus tax and gratuity. One of our 8-ounce logo glasses is included with the cost of your dinner, too! (One per customer, please.)
Additional glasses of beer can be purchased:
• $10 for 8 oz glasses of each of the four Kellerbiers
• $5 for a ½ liter glass of the beer of your choice.
Additional crabs and crab cakes can be purchased:
• ½ dozen crabs (large): $15
• 2 crab cakes: $15
Please call us at 301.340.7159 to make a reservation. If you can let us know approximately how many crabs you think you will eat, it will help us plan our order.
Hope to see you there!
To wrap up our DC Beer Week we wanted to give back to DC so we teamed-up with 3 Stars to raise some loot for DC Firefighters Burn Foundation. This organization is “Dedicated to assisting in the recovery and rehabilitation of injured firefighters and burn patients in the D.C. Metropolitan area”. To aid this cause, 3 Stars has donated four casks that will be tapped at 11AM. All cask pours will be $5 and all proceeds will go directly to DC Firefighters Burn Foundation. 11 drafts from 3 Stars will also be available throughout the day.
