On Monday, August 12, Gordon Biersch Navy Yard will host "TURNIP THE BEETS MUSIC AND BEER DINNER." Four beers, paired with four courses, paired with four different musical set lists, each artfully chosen to tastefully enhance the entire experience. Brewer Travis Tedrow and Chef Tony Blais will host the event in the Marzen Room.
1st course: Crab Croquettes with a lobster dill sauce, paired with Dirty Blonde, an unfiltered version of our Blonde Bock.
2nd course: Summer Salad with candied walnuts and a peach-hefeweizen vinaigrette, paired with our Belgian Amber Ale.
3rd course: Grilled Rockfish with beet relish and braised turnip greens, paired with our American IPA.
4th course: Banana Lumpia Split - our take on a banana split. A chocolate coated banana wrapped in a lumpia wrapper and flash fried. Served with ice cream and topped with fudge, caramel and strawberry puree, paired with our Shwartzbier.
Musical selections for the four courses range from New Orleans brass bands, indie pop rock, western swing, all the way to east coast hip hop.
